Carrie Fisher[1] has a habit of saying eye-opening things about her life as a celebrity and hew new book, The Princess Diarist, promises to be filled with more. A week before the book comes out, she has admitted that she had an affair with a married Harrison Ford[2] while they were making Star Wars[3] in 1977.
At the time of the alleged affair 40 years ago, Ford was married to his first wife, Mary Marquardt and 33 years old. Fisher was 19 and not married while they made Star Wars. Ford, who hasn't commented on the claims, played Han Solo in the film, while Fisher was Princess Leia.
Ford has been married three times, while Fisher has only been married once. She was married to Paul Simon in 1983 and 1984. She has a daughter, Billie Lourd, from her relationship with Bryan Lourd.
Fisher did tweet about the media frenzy her excerpt caused, appearing to say that the excerpt was taken out of context. "I would never talk about how someone was in any furniture–chair, bed, coffee table or otherwise," Fisher wrote in another tweet.

1. Fisher Writes in the Book That She was a 'Bad Kisser' During Their Affair

In The Princess Diarist, which comes out on November 22, Fisher said she was a sexually inexperienced 19-year-old at the time of the affair. According to excerpts posted by Radar Online[5], Fisher complained that she was a "bad kisser."
She said that their first night together wasn't great, but she was OK with it because "he really was handsome." She said the relationship lasted three months, but couldn't remember the details because of "the brutal strength of Harrison's preferred strain of pot."
She dreamed that she would give him a "gold band with diamonds (inscribed) 'Carrison,'" but it never happened. After they wrapped up filming the movie in May 1976, Ford went back to his wife and their two sons.
There was a rumor three years ago[6] that circulated on the web about the two having an affair, but it wasn't until now that Fisher confirmed it.
However, as Mashable points out[7], Fisher did mention an incident in a 2008 interview about how she once found Ford hiding in her closet, "naked but for a tie." She has also told stories about Ford's pot being too strong for her during the filming.

Fisher spoke more about the affair in an interview with People[10]. "It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend," she said, calling the affair "intense."
Fisher told People that the two had their first night together after they had a party for writer/director George Lucas' birthday. After that first night, she was filled with self-doubt.
"I looked over at Harrison. A hero's face — a few strands of hair fell over his noble, slightly furrowed brow," she wrote in The Princess Diarist. "How could you ask such a shining specimen of a man to be satisfied with the likes of me?"
"I was so inexperienced, but I trusted something about him. He was kind," Fisher said.

At the time of the affair, Ford was married to Mary Marquardt. The two married in 1964 and divorced in 1979, two years after Star Wars came out. Ford was married to Melissa Mathison from 1983 to 2004. He's been married to Calista Flockhart since 2010.
Ford[13] had two sons with Marquandt: Benjamin and Willard. He had two children with the late Mathison, who is best known for writing E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial.
Ford and Flockhart are also parents to her adopted son Liam, who was born in 2001.

It's never a good idea to take your young child to a Carrie Fisher panel at a convention because you never know what she's going to say. At Star Wars Celebration in April 2015, Fisher said[16] she was "quite the space slut" during the making of the original Star Wars films.
"My God, I never realized that. I was quite the space slut. But they look pretty good," Fisher said after several photos of her kissing actors on the set of the Star Wars films were shown at the Anaheim convention.
During that same panel, she said her favorite scenes in all of the Star Wars films involved her insulting Ford.
"Probably one of the scenes where I said something awful to Harrison. 'Scruffy looking nerf-herder,' something like that. What a moron."
Ford and Fisher's relationship was very different while they made The Empire Strikes Back, when she was abusing drugs. However, she told the Daily Beast[17], "Actually, no, I didn't go through a difficult time! I said I did blow a couple of times. That's not a difficult time!"
In 2010[18], she admitted to doing drugs on the set of Empire. She used cocaine while filming the Hoth scenes.
"I didn't even like coke that much, it was just a case of getting on whatever train I needed to take to get high," she said in 2010.

While on The Graham Norton Show[21] in December 2015, Fisher proved that Disney never put a filter on her. She said she gave The Force Awakens actress Daisy Ridley sex advice while making the movie.
"I told her not to go through the crew like wildfire, but I also told her not to take any advice from me," Fisher told Norton. "When I was first in it I never wanted anyone to have the anecdote, 'I slept with Princess Leia.'"
Ridley also got some advice from Fisher when the actresses sat together for Interview Magazine[22]. She told Ridley that it will be really hard to date anyone after being in a Star Wars movie.
"I also said it's hard to date once you're a big Star Wars star because you don't want to give people the ability to say, 'I had sex with Princess Leia,'" Fisher said.
